Heidelberg University Hospital is ranked 14th on the "World's Best Hospitals 2025" list
Heidelberg University Hospital has once again been named one of the world's best hospitals, moving even closer to the global top spot compared to last year. In the latest publication of the "World's Best Hospitals", it ranks 14th worldwide and second in Germany. The ranking, commissioned by the US magazine "Newsweek" and compiled in cooperation with the statistics and market research organization "Statista," confirms the extraordinary achievements of Heidelberg Hospital and the tremendous commitment of its employees to providing the best possible medical care.
With increasing globalization, patients and their families are looking beyond their home country's borders in search of the best medical treatment. Objective and comprehensive information about where first-class care is available is a great help in the decision-making process.
The ranking is based on an extensive evaluation process that includes an online survey of thousands of medical experts, as well as patient experience data and hospital quality indicators. The study compared 2,400 hospitals from 30 highly developed countries. Among them were 200 hospitals in Germany.

Heidelberg University Hospital's outstanding performance is further proof of its exceptional excellence. Just a few months ago, it was recognized for its outstanding expertise and performance in several specialized areas in the "World's Best Specialized Hospitals 2025" ranking. Heidelberg's specialist departments of neurology, neurosurgery, cardiology, oncology, gynecology and obstetrics are among the top 50 of their kind worldwide, and several other departments are among the top 100.
