More space for cutting-edge oncology
Extension building for the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT) Heidelberg
Since 2004, Heidelberg University Hospital and the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) have been pooling their expertise in the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT) Heidelberg. The Center thus combines cancer research and patient care at the highest level. With the aim of understanding cancer better, detecting it earlier, treating it in a targeted manner and preventing it effectively, researchers and doctors work side by side under one roof at the NCT Heidelberg. Patients are treated here according to international standards and benefit from innovative therapeutic approaches, particularly in the case of advanced or rare cancers.
An extension of 2,500 square meters has now been inaugurated. The spatial expansion of the NCT Heidelberg enables the intensification of patient-oriented research.
