Heidelberg University Hospital ranked 15th among the "World's Best Hospitals 2024"
Heidelberg University Hospital has once again been named one of the best hospitals in the world. In the latest edition of the "World's Best Hospitals 2024" ranking, which was compiled by the US magazine "Newsweek" in cooperation with the statistics and market research organization "Statista", it was ranked 15th worldwide. The award confirms the enormous commitment of the hospital and its employees to providing the best possible medical care. Within Germany, Heidelberg is in second place.
The rating is based in particular on an online survey of more than 85,000 medical experts, hospital performance indicators and data from patient surveys. Criteria such as hygiene and the patient-physician ratio were also taken into account. The study compared 2,400 hospitals from 30 countries, including the USA, Canada, most Western European and Scandinavian countries as well as ten Asian countries and Australia. The aim of the study is to provide an objective, data-driven comparison of the reputation and performance of hospitals in different countries to guide patients and families in their search for the best possible medical care.

World's Best Specialized Hospitals 2024
Heidelberg University Hospital and the affiliated Thoraxklinik Heidelberg have already been recognized for their outstanding expertise and performance in several medical fields in the "World's Best Specialized Hospitals 2024" ranking. The Departments of Cardiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Cardiac Surgery, Gynaecology and Obstetrics are among the top 50 worldwide and are ranked second in several categories within Germany.
